The South Killingly Fire Department exists to Protect the Citizens of the District from Emergencies and Disasters through Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Material Mitigation, Fire Prevention, and Public Education Programs.

The members of the South Killingly Fire Department extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends, brothers and sisters of the Boston (MA) Fire Department as they mourn the loss of one of their firefighters, Robert Kilduff Jr. of Rescue 2, who was killed in the line of duty yesterday while operating at a house fire in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston.

On Monday 4/27/26 at 3:25PM crews were dispatched for a vehicle fire with exposure to a house. Additional mutual aid was requested for water and foam as crews battled the gasoline fire. Crews extinguished the fire while protecting the nearby exposure. All units cleared at 4:52PM and the scene was turned over to the Killingly Fire Marshal’s Office.

On Sunday 4/12/26 at 6:22PM crews were dispatched automatic aid to Putnam for a structure fire as the Rapid Intervention Team. On arrival crews were directed to lay 400’ of LDH supply hose & re-assigned to interior operations. SKFD units cleared at 9:49PM.

On Friday 4/10/26 at 3:01PM crews were dispatched automatic aid to Danielson for a brush fire. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. All SKFD units cleared at 3:54PM and the scene was left with the Killingly FMO.
