[625A] An organized complex of thunderstorms will bring threats for locally damaging winds (50-60 MPH), frequent lightning and heavy rainfall/flooding to the region this afternoon (12 PM - 6 PM). Impacts from this system will likely be greatest across the western half of the region.

Power has been restored to several hundred customers but we still have approximately 4,000 out. Live outage map can be viewed at https://decaturutilities.outagemap.cloud.coop/ # but numbers shown may be a bit larger than actual. Crews are continuing to work on restoring power.

DU is experiencing several large outages across town due to the line of thunderstorms. Most appear to be substation related. Heavy storms are still in the area but crews are working to restore service as rapidly as safely possible. More updates will be posted as info becomes available.

From severe weather and hazardous materials incidents to large events, power outages, and community emergencies, emergency management works behind the scenes to support public safety and coordinate resources when they are needed most.

At Morgan County EMA, our mission is to help keep our community informed, prepared, and ready. We work closely with local, state, federal, and volunteer partners to plan for emergencies, provide public safety information, support response operations, and strengthen preparedness across Morgan County.

Preparedness is a shared responsibility, and together we can help make Morgan County safer and more resilient.

[Training Exercise]The Morgan County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a training exercise at Cotaco School until 4pm today and 8-4pm on Friday. There will be a large Law Enforcement presence on both days.
