Happy National Radio Day! 📻

On August 20th, we celebrate the amazing invention of the radio and its essential role in bringing us the news we rely on! Locally, we take pride in WSLN (98.7 FM), the student-run station that has been broadcasting since the early 1950s. After many years as an FM station, they made the exciting leap to internet streaming in May 2012, keeping students connected still today.

And don't forget Delaware's own AM station WDLR (1550 AM)! Starting in 1960, this station for local news, high school sports, weather updates, and engaging community discussions. WLDR still is on the radio, now known as MY96.7 FM, located in Lewis Center. 📡🎶

Happy National Root Beer Float Day! On August 6th, we celebrate the ice-cold mug of frothy root beer paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Back in 1998 at the Delaware County Fair, you could get all the root beer floats to your heart’s desire. So raise a mug of a classic, summer time treat!
