Senior Support Services - Denver

Senior Support Services - Denver SSS is Denver's only day shelter exclusively for people age 60+. As the need grew, our services expanded.

Senior Support Services (SSS) was established in 1976 when six churches in downtown Denver came together to assist low-income and homeless seniors who were being displaced by downtown redevelopment. In 1979, we began to provide day shelter, coffee, one hot meal per day and case management services to assist seniors in obtaining benefits and finding affordable housing. In 1995, SSS bought a buildin

g at 18th Avenue & Emerson Street where the full range of services – one-stop shopping – are provided for hungry and homeless seniors.

Criminalization doesn't end homelessness. Housing does.

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless has released a Policy Strategies Blueprint outlining what our state needs right now to protect unhoused community members from harmful federal policy — and to invest in what actually works.

At The Delores Project, we see every day what happens when people have access to stable housing, behavioral health support, and community. This blueprint reflects that reality.
