Tomorrow, Denver City Council will meet to formalize Councilmember At-Large Sarah Parady's resignation. Immediately after the meeting, the Denver Clerk & Recorder will begin accepting candidate paperwork and issuing petition packets. Today marks Colorado's 150th birthday! On August 1, 1876, Colorado joined the Union as the 38th state. As we celebrate this sesquicentennial milestone, the Denver Clerk & Recorder is proud to continue serving the residents of our great city and state — recording history, one document at a time, for 150 years and counting.

Starting this week, July 20 through October 2, our building will be undergoing some exciting remodels to better serve you.

Because of construction, in-person recording appointments will be limited during the next few weeks. Marriage and Civil Union licenses will be issued by Virtual Appointments only. Voter Services and Public Trustee services are available via walk-in.

Here are some pro-tips to save you time:
- Check online first: You can handle or start many services online first, including completing marriage license applications and checking records.

Happy birthday to the United States! On this day, a group of proud patriots signed one of the most famous documents in history and firmly cemented the United States' independence from England.
In observation of that, all city & county offices, including DCR, will be closed today. We will reopen for business at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 6.
