Improvements are underway along the High Line Canal! Walkways are being widened, with crushed paver surfaces planned to make the trail safer and more accessible for people walking and biking.

Between Dayton St. and Valentia Ave., vegetation clearing, tree protection and erosion control are taking place in preparation for demolition, which is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

UPDATE: The RTD CONNECT stakeholder workshop scheduled for Friday, October 2, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Lowry Conference Center has been postponed. RTD is developing additional network concepts before beginning customer, stakeholder and community engagement. New workshop dates will be announced once confirmed.

RTD is developing RTD CONNECT, a comprehensive evaluation of its transit network to better understand the community’s current and future transportation needs. Join a stakeholder workshop on Friday, October 2, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Lowry Conference Center (1601 Akron Way) to learn more and provide input on future transit service.

Reminder to Denver residents: Given the ongoing drought conditions, Denver Water has prohibited lawn watering and all spray irrigation beginning Oct. 1, until further action by the Denver Board of Water Commissioners.

Drought enforcement is in effect, and any violation will result in charges of $500 for the first violation, up to $2,000 for subsequent violations and further enforcement action, including suspending water service.

While lawn watering is ending, it remains important to keep trees healthy. Trees, shrubs and gardens may still be watered during dry spells, using a hand-held hose with a shut-off nozzle or low-volume, non-spray irrigation, such as a drip system.

District 5 residents are invited to an interactive energy event with Solar United Neighbors, the City and County of Denver, and Rewiring America on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 5:30–7 p.m. at Montclair Recreation Center, where attendees can learn about solar, battery storage and heat pumps, including how these technologies can save money and benefit the community.
