Union Station now includes an extensive transportation hub, a custom-crafted line up of locally owned restaurants and shops, and a new 112 room hotel. The RTD rail lines and buses connect downtown and its surrounding communities as well as providing a direct railway from Union Station to Denver International Airport.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday to celebrate, dance, and honor the vibrant cultures and traditions of Latin America. It was so special to see Denver Union Station come alive with music, movement, community, and culture. ❤️

A very special thank you to the Mexican Cultural Center for helping us bring this celebration to life, along with our incredible performers, community partners, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

Hispanic Heritage Month officially begins September 15, and we were honored to kick off the celebrations a little early. ¡Gracias, Denver! 🇲🇽🇨🇴🇵🇪

Nearly five years after Colorado became a state, Denver Union Station opened its doors in 1881.

These historic images offer a glimpse of the original station, built during Colorado’s earliest years of statehood. At the time, Denver Union Depot stood as one of the tallest buildings in the West, with its iconic clock tower becoming a defining part of Denver’s skyline.

The original station was later transformed after the 1894 fire that destroyed its Central Hall and Clock Tower, but its role as a gathering place and connection point for Colorado continued.

For nearly 150 years, Denver Union Station has been part of the stories, celebrations, and moments that have shaped our state.

As we celebrate Colorado’s 150th birthday during Spirit of the Centennial State on Saturday, August 1, we invite you to join us in honoring the history, culture, and community that make Colorado so special.

We've got a jam-packed schedule of performances all day long, including Rootbeer Richie, the Cleo Parker Robinson Youth Ensemble, Central City Opera, Colorado Symphony, mariachi performances, and more.
