The Devils Lake Fire Department is excited to announce our first-ever 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb!

Join us on September 11th as we come together to honor the heroes of 9/11, remember those we lost, and take on a challenge with a purpose. Whether you're a firefighter, first responder, gym enthusiast, or just looking for a meaningful way to participate, we'd love to have you join us.

This event is about more than just climbing stairs—it's about community, remembrance, and paying tribute to the courage and sacrifice shown on September 11, 2001.

We're still putting the finishing touches on the event, and we'll be sharing registration details, location information, and other exciting announcements soon.

When he’s not working long hours on the farm or training with one of the two departments he proudly serves, Darren enjoys spending his summer days fishing and relaxing with his family at their lake place. When winter rolls around, you’ll likely find him bundled up at the rink, cheering on his kids at hockey or figure skating, or simply chasing them around and keeping up with their busy schedules. Darren’s commitment to family, community, and the fire service is something we’re proud to highlight in this week’s Firefighter Spotlight. 🚒

Big congratulations to three of our firefighters who recently reached some important milestones in their training and professional development.

CeCe Hinton has successfully completed her HazMat Awareness certification, strengthening her ability to recognize and safely respond to hazardous materials incidents. Karsen Beck earned both his HazMat Operations certification and Firefighter I, demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing his skills and readiness to serve. Garrett Harding also achieved his Firefighter I certification, marking a significant step forward in his fire service career.

These certifications require dedication, time, and a lot of hard work. We’re proud of the effort each of these firefighters has put in to better serve our department and community.
