🌿 Remembering Wendell Berry (1934–2026)

It saddens me to say that Wendell Berry has walked on.

“It may be that when we no longer know what to do,
we have come to our real work,
and when we no longer know which way to go,
we have begun our real journey.”
— Wendell Berry, Poetry and Marriage (1983)

Berry spent his life teaching us that bewilderment is not a collapse but a beginning — that the moment we lose our bearings is often the moment we finally become honest, attentive, and awake. Farmer, poet, neighbor to the land, he showed that gentleness is strength, that community is a sacred practice, and that the earth is a teacher if we will listen.

His passing feels like the quieting of a steady voice, one that kept calling us back to place, to responsibility, to love.
May his words continue to guide us into our real work, and our real journey.

When “good Christians” are more concerned about an immigrant’s documents than their hunger and despair, we’ve lost sight of Jesus.

Hey all! Just a reminder that this is my PROFESSIONAL page. What I share here is in alignment with my calling as a minister of word and sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Though it would be rare to find anything posted here that would be contrary to the beliefs of the majority of my current congregation, please keep in mind these are MY views and not those of The Presbyterian Church of Dover. The official church Facebook can be found at Dover Presbyterian Church.

The work of a pastor is never done. There's always another Sunday coming, another person to visit, another community need, another meeting to attend. Today, I'm especially grateful for the call to this weird and wonderful vocation. The rhythm of the work is sometimes chaotic, but the rewards are so much greater than the burdens.

Scammers are at it again sending emails to church members pretending to be me. Do not reply!
