Please join us in congratulating Jordan McKee on his promotion to Sports Sales Leader for the Delaware Tourism Office!

Since joining the team as Sports Tourism Coordinator, Jordan has played an important role in advancing Delaware's sports tourism efforts. In his new position, he will lead the recruitment and support of regional, national, and international sporting events that drive visitation and economic impact throughout Delaware.

Jordan will also oversee key sports tourism incentive programs, including the TEAMS Program and Sports Tourism Capital Investment Fund, while continuing to build strong relationships with event organizers, sports governing bodies, facilities, hotels, and community partners.

With more than a decade of experience spanning college athletics, national team programming, youth development, and event operations, Jordan brings a wealth of expertise and passion to this role.

Congratulations, Jordan! We look forward to seeing Delaware's sports tourism industry continue to grow under your leadership.

Congratulations to the 28 Delaware businesses and organizations selected to receive funding through the Delaware Grocery Initiative and First State Food System Program! 🥕🍎

Just over $700,000 in grant funding was awarded to projects across all three counties to help expand access to healthy, affordable food in communities identified as food deserts or at risk of becoming food deserts. Funding will support a wide range of efforts, including fresh food distribution, cold storage expansion, farm infrastructure improvements, community food access programs, and supply chain enhancements.

These investments strengthen Delaware’s food system while supporting farmers, nonprofits, grocery retailers, and community organizations working to improve food access statewide. For more information, visit the link in our bio or https://business.delaware.gov/delaware-grocery-initiative/.

Even when the EDGE competition is over, we're still talking about EDGE! Today our Deputy Director Jaimie Watts was pleased to present a recap of this spring's EDGE 2.0 competition during the statewide Economic Development Partners meeting in Dover. DSB and the Delaware Prosperity Partnership co-chair the bi-monthly meetings. It's a great opportunity to share information with partners and municipalities.

Recently, we joined Hayflick Partners for a check presentation celebrating the company’s $1 million award through our SSBCI Delaware Accelerator and Seed Capital program (DASCP). 👏

Hayflick Partners is helping advance innovation in aging biology by leveraging new scientific discoveries to address health and aesthetic concerns associated with declining cellular function.

Investments through DASCP help support groundbreaking companies that are driving research, innovation, and economic growth in Delaware’s life sciences and technology sectors.

We look forward to seeing Hayflick Partners continue to grow and make an impact through cutting-edge scientific advancement.

Delaware Division of Small Business staff attended the “Opportunity LIVES Here in Delaware” event hosted by Senator Darius Brown on May 8 at The Queen in Wilmington.

The event brought together business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and community partners for meaningful conversations focused on Delaware’s economic future, including

innovation, investment, and the continued growth of the First State’s business ecosystem. 💡

“Opportunity LIVES Here” highlights the importance of collaboration in building a strong and inclusive economy—one where businesses and communities can thrive together.

We were proud to be in the room for this impactful discussion on Delaware’s future.

We’re proud to highlight NorthNode Counseling, a Dover-based business making a meaningful impact in Delaware, through accessible counseling and mental health services.

Through our SSBCI Delaware Loan Participation Program (DELPP), NorthNode Counseling received $278,682.50 to support its continued growth and expansion.

Programs like DELPP help Delaware small businesses access the capital they need to grow, create jobs, and continue serving their communities.

DSB staff were excited to present to the Delaware Africa Chamber of Commerce on 5/20 at the Appoquinimink Library in Middletown. Business owners learned about DSB services and shared info about their businesses and challenges. We were happily able to provide support on site for some of the members. The group heard from DSB Regional Business Managers, our Business Finance Unit and our Office of Supplier Diversity.
