Newark Man Arrested on Multiple Firearm-Related Felony Charges.

Delaware Natural Resources Police (DNRP) State Parks Unit officers arrested a 21-year-old Newark man on multiple felony charges after finding him with a loaded, illegally modified handgun in White Clay Creek State Park.

Over the last several weeks, Master Corporal Lister and his K9 partner Vos have attended the Brandywine Valley SPCA Critter Camp at their Georgetown campus. Camper's had the opportunity to learn more about police K9's and the important role they play in law enforcement.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Strickland on graduating from the Delaware State Police Training Academy - 106th Delaware State Police and 102nd Municipal Recruit Class last evening!

Earlier this week, Officer Strickland was sworn in by Delaware DNREC Secretary Greg Patterson. He is now ready to begin field training next week. We're excited to welcome him to NRP!

On Thursday, at the Delaware State Fair, Gabriel Alfaro was presented with the championship trophy as the overall winner of the 2026 Delaware Youth Fishing Tournament, sponsored by the Delaware Natural Resources Police. Gabriel received his trophy from Governor Matt Meyer, DNREC Secretary Greg Patterson, Deputy Secretary Dayna Cobb, and Major Drew Aydelotte in recognition of his outstanding accomplishment. Gabriel earned the statewide title after catching 10.1 pounds of fish during this year’s tournament.

The Delaware Youth Fishing Tournament is held annually on the first Saturday in June and is open to youth anglers ages 4 to 15.

Yesterday, Delaware Natural Resources Police (NRP) officers attended one of the Delaware State Police Youth Camps at Camp Barnes, arriving by patrol boat to give campers a firsthand look at the work of the Fish and Wildlife Unit.

During the visit, officers spoke with campers about the diverse responsibilities of an NRP Officer, including boating safety, natural resource protection, conservation law enforcement, and emergency response. Campers also had the opportunity to tour one of the agency's patrol vessels, ask questions, and learn more about the equipment officers use to protect Delaware's waterways and natural resources.
