Delaware Department of State Serving Delaware and the world 🌎 Jeffrey W.

The Delaware Department of State is an extremely diverse department with responsibilities in virtually every aspect of state government: economic development, finance, transportation, housing, education, culture, and quality-of-life-issues. Our mission is to:

➡️ Promote Delaware’s economy and generate state revenue.
➡️ Manage and facilitate citizen access to governmental, educational, and recreat

ional information.
➡️ Preserve and promote Delaware history, art, and culture.
➡️ Assist and provide direct services to Delaware veterans and their families.
➡️ Promote equal opportunity and protection for all persons.
➡️ Provide regulatory, licensing, investigative, and consumer services to protect the public’s health, safety, and economic welfare.
➡️ Administer the State’s public and merit employment relations laws and government ethics laws. Bullock serves as the 80th Delaware Secretary of State since 2009 when he was appointed by then-Governor Jack Markell and reappointed in 2017 by Governor John Carney. In addition to leading the Department of State, Secretary Bullock has a number of constitutional and statutory responsibilities, including serving on the Board of Pardons.

In honor of the nation’s 250th Anniversary, several Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs (HCA) properties will host programs that complement statewide celebrations by capturing pivotal moments in history.

From the New Castle Court House Museum (NCCH) to The Old State House in Dover, and the Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes, HCA ensures that visitors across all three counties can learn about Delaware’s Revolutionary roots.

Whether it’s meeting with historians and reenactors, getting immersed in state civics or watching a revolutionary period film on the New Castle Green, HCA connects Delawareans and visitors to our deep, rich and complex colonial past. All HCA programs are free.

Happy Delaware!
