Dr. Timothy L. “Tim” Ellison is the newly appointed Director of Bands for Sequatchie County (TN) Schools.

Dr. Ellison holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from UTC. His graduate studies include degrees from Georgia State University (Master of Music) and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Doctor of Musical Arts). Throughout his career Dr. Ellison has taught in multiple states and various music classes to students, grades 5-12 and at the collegiate level.

On a personal level, Dr. Ellison enjoys travel, customs/practices of various people groups, spending time with family and friends, anything culinary, and is an avid pit-bull lover (really ANY bulldog)!

Dr. Ellison brings twenty years of professional experience and is ready to continue/join in the work of creating a positive, lasting, and musical impact in the Sequatchie Valley.

Alternative School Principal Named—Jeff Baker brings more than 25 years of experience in education leadership and a deep commitment to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally. Most recently, he has been serving at Sequatchie County Middle School, where he has worked to support student achievement, school improvement, and positive school culture. Throughout his career, Mr. Baker has served in a variety of leadership roles focused on helping students and staff succeed. He is passionate about creating supportive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Mr. Baker looks forward to serving students, families, and staff in his new role as Alternative School Principal and continuing to make a positive impact in the community.

Mr. Levi Moore has honorably served Sequatchie County Schools for two years as the Alternative School Assistant, helping create a positive and rehabilitative learning environment.
Music has always been a wonderful passion of his. He held the title of Horn Captain at Lafayette County High School of Mayo, Florida; as well as played in North Florida Community College’s Jazz Ensemble band as first chair Saxophonist. To this day, Mr. Moore plays Saxophone at Word of Life Assembly of God.
Mr. Moore is currently enrolled in the University of Tennessee Chattanooga to receive his bachelors degree in Musical Education. During the 26-27 school year, he will be working at Sequatchie County Middle School. In response to his change in assignment, Mr. Moore stated, "I look forward to serving families, the community and the students themselves. I look forward to an exciting year of music!"

Thank you to everyone who tried out. Your effort and attitudes were top notch. We will have a team practice tomorrow from 3-5 with a parent meeting at 5pm in the High School Commons.

💜💛SCHS is excited to announce the Girls New 2026-2027 Head Basketball Coach
is … Coach Jason Smith!!💜💛

Any upcoming ninth grade or high school girls interested in trying out for the high school basketball team, tryouts will be Tuesday 5/26 through Thursday 5/28 from 10am-12pm.

Players who have participated in high school or middle school sports this year have a valid physical through the end of June. Anyone without a physical on file needs to bring a copy of an updated sports physical with them.
T-shirt, shorts and basketball/ tennis shoes recommended for tryouts.
