On Monday, August 10, 2026, at approximately 9:40 a.m., our department responded to a dump truck rollover on Route 27. Due to the complexity of the incident, Route 27 was closed and traffic was diverted for approximately four hours while crews worked to ensure the scene was safe and the vehicle could be removed.
Incidents like these often require teamwork, therefore we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Boothbay Fire Department, Blagden’s Wrecker Service, AC Towing and Recovery, CLC Ambulance, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and E.M. Wood Construction for their assistance throughout the operation.
Thank you to everyone involved for your professionalism, dedication, and commitment to keeping our community safe.

Last night, we had the opportunity to host our monthly group training with Alna, Wiscasset, and Westport Fire Departments. Members spent the evening sharpening their skills with ladder carries, raises, placement, and overall ladder operations.
A big thank you to all the firefighters who took the time to attend and made this training possible! Another huge thank you to the Edgecomb Eddy School for giving us the space to train! We are looking forward to our future trainings with everyone!

Gavin was a young firefighter just starting out his career when he was tragically killed in a car accident in December of 2025. His family has started the Gavin Martin Foundation in his memory, and are hosting this training on what would be his 22nd birthday.

Get signed up, there are worse places to spend a weekend in August!

Early this morning, two of our firefighters traveled to Belfast and were honored to stand vigil for Andrew Cross of the Morrill Fire Department.
Firefighter Cross made the ultimate sacrifice on May 15, 2026, at the Robbins Lumber fire where he lost his life in the line of duty.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family, friends, and brothers and sisters in the fire service during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest easy, brother. We’ll take it from here.

🔥International Firefighters Day!🔥

We would like to take a moment to recognize the men and women of the Edgecomb Fire Department, as well as our brothers and sisters around the world, on International Firefighters’ Day.

Words cannot begin to describe how fortunate we are to have such dedicated individuals who step up and serve their community.
