Early this morning, two of our firefighters traveled to Belfast and were honored to stand vigil for Andrew Cross of the Morrill Fire Department.
Firefighter Cross made the ultimate sacrifice on May 15, 2026, at the Robbins Lumber fire where he lost his life in the line of duty.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family, friends, and brothers and sisters in the fire service during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest easy, brother. We’ll take it from here.

🔥International Firefighters Day!🔥

We would like to take a moment to recognize the men and women of the Edgecomb Fire Department, as well as our brothers and sisters around the world, on International Firefighters’ Day.

Words cannot begin to describe how fortunate we are to have such dedicated individuals who step up and serve their community.

All we can say is thank you.

WE WANT YOUR JUNK… car 🚗

The Edgecomb Fire Department, along with multiple partnering fire departments, will be conducting a large-scale, in-depth vehicle extrication training this August. We need all the junk cars we can get our hands on!

This training is invaluable, as it allows firefighters to gain hands-on experience with specialized equipment that is (fortunately) not used very often. Working with real vehicles gives our firefighters practical, real-world knowledge of vehicle construction and how to quickly and safely gain access to a trapped patient. When faced with an actual car accident, these skills can save lives.

If you or anyone you know has a junk vehicle, no matter the condition, please contact us. You can comment on this post so we can message you, or call the fire department at (207) 882-9618. We’ll arrange towing at no cost to you.

Thank you for helping us train to protect our community! 🔥🚗

We are devastated to share the passing of Firefighter Gavin Martin. Gavin passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning and has left a hole in our community that will be impossible to fill. Gavin was one of the most dedicated members of our department and his passion for firefighting can never be matched.

We would like to send our deepest condolences to Gavin’s family while they navigate through this tragedy.

Lastly, we’d like to share a gentle reminder to hug your loved ones.

Thank you for your years of service, Gavin.

One of our favorite parts of the year!
Today members of the Edgecomb Fire Department along with Sparky went to the Edgecomb Eddy School to teach each grade all about fire safety and prevention.
From seeing a fully geared up firefighter, getting tours of the trucks, and many hugs from Sparky it’s safe to say the kids (and firefighters) had a morning full of learning and fun!
Thank you to the Edgecomb Eddy School for welcoming our department and allowing us to share the importance of fire safety!
