We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dolly Parton, but we are even more grateful for the incredible legacy of kindness, generosity, and literacy she leaves behind.

As a public library, one of the parts of Dolly’s legacy that means the most to us is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Her belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up surrounded by books has made an incredible difference in the lives of children and families everywhere—including right here in Kentucky. 📚❤️

Today, more than 132,000 Kentucky children are receiving a free, age-appropriate book every month through the Imagination Library, and more than 6 million books have been delivered to Kentucky children since the program began here. Even more incredible, the program is now available in all 120 Kentucky counties.

We are so thankful for Dolly's love of children, books, and the simple joy of reading. Her dream of putting books into the hands of children will continue to inspire generations to come.

📚 Do you have a child or grandchild between birth and age 5? They can still sign up to receive ONE FREE BOOK EVERY MONTH through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library!

Families can register online or stop by the library and we'll be happy to help you get signed up.

Registration for our 2026–2027 Toddler Time & Story Hour programs is happening now! 🎉

Stop by the library to register or visit our website to sign up. When registering, please be sure to look over the appropriate Toddler Time or Story Hour brochure as well as the Toddler Time & Story Hour Expectations.
