Anyone have a good bike that they are looking to get rid of???

H.O.M.E. needs your help! We have 2 individuals in our programs that are in need of an adult bicycle to enable them to get to and from work. If you have a bicycle sitting around that is still in good shape, please contact Brooke at 207-469-7961 extension 123. Together we make a difference in people's lives every day!

Good Morning… our free clothing closet is changing with the season and find a need of summer items for all. Shorts, tanks & trunks, bathing suits, sandals & flip flops.. as well as pants for men sizes 28 to 40!! Of course in good usable conditions free of holes and stains. Thank you to all who support our mission!!

Tomorrow is the day! Come and join us for a meal and learn what H.O.M.E. was up to in 2025. Interested in joining our board or being a volunteer? The Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner is a great time to learn about all that is happening here at H.O.M.E. We hope to see you there! And watch for H.O.M.E.'s Pathways to Creativity event on Friday starting at 10 am where we open our art studios to the public to see what is available here at H.O.M.E. It will also be the season opening of the H.O.M.E.-Made Gift Shop! Things are happening here at H.O.M.E. Come and be a part of it!

Advocacy in action! Help support Maines homeless shelter network.

Members of the Maine Emergency Shelter Directors Coalition gathered in Augusta yesterday to advocate for ongoing funding support for Maine's emergency shelters.

Preble Street’s 164 shelter beds at four emergency shelters in Portland and Bangor are full almost every single night of the year to meet the needs of vulnerable Mainers. More than 500 individuals used our shelters last year, representing all of Maine’s 16 counties.

Helping someone stabilize and develop a plan to exit homelessness is significantly easier when they are staying in a shelter. While we work to build permanent, long-term housing and homelessness solutions, it is important to recognize that shelters often operate as stepping stones toward housing. Without them, the solutions that we are all working toward become much harder to put in place.
