Essex RTC The best government is that which governs least.

Whether we are in the majority or minority, we've long made our peace living alongside people with whom we disagree. We may not always respect their opinions—hell, we may cheerfully object to the policies they implement during their turns in power—but we still eat alongside our opponents, do business with them, and say "hello" in the street. We make peace with people who harbor very different political affiliations because we have no reasonable alternative.

Today, Governor Lamont unveiled what he described as an energy plan, just weeks after Eversource sought an 11% rate hike following eight years of soaring electricity costs for your family on his watch.

Gov. Lamont is eight years late and billions of dollars short. His policies have inflated the hidden taxes and cost of your electricity bills over two terms. Why should we trust him that a third term will be different?

As governor, I will change direction. I’ll eliminate every hidden tax in your electric bills, hold Eversource and the big utilities accountable, and cut costs for your family by 20 percent.

It’s time for a change.
