Our team spent Friday evening at Plaid & Timber Axe Throwing Company, enjoying Bauerhaus Catering & Pastry before putting our axe-throwing skills to the test. While we may not all be expert lumberjacks, we had plenty of fun giving it our best shot!

Join us in welcoming Logan Hutchinson to the Hafer team!

As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, Logan is motivated by the people-first impact of his work. He’s also a LEED Green Associate, demonstrating his knowledge of sustainable design practices.

Outside of work, Logan enjoys hands-on projects including vehicle repairs and woodworking. He's also a World War II history buff.

Talk about a transformation!

An unused print shop at EVSC (Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation)'s Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center has found a whole new purpose as a professional salon for the school’s new cosmetology program.

From styling and barber stations to shampoo, manicure and pedicure areas, the renovated space gives students a real-world environment to learn and practice their craft. Open sightlines support instruction, while natural light, herringbone flooring and linear lighting give the salon a bright, polished look.

It was Sam Schulz’s dream to see the Memorial Tigers have locker rooms worthy of their accomplishments. As the team’s official biggest fan, Sam brought unmatched enthusiasm, encouragement and Tiger pride to the Memorial community.

Hafer was excited to design this renovation and help bring Sam’s dream closer to reality. Once fundraising is complete, Memorial’s existing 1970s locker rooms will be transformed into modern, improved team facilities that better support today’s athletes while celebrating the school’s athletic tradition and unmistakable Tiger pride. The renovated space will also include a special dedication honoring Sam and the lasting impact he had on Memorial!

EDIT: This project is focused on breathing new life into Memorial’s existing locker rooms while working within the footprint of the current 1970s facility. Because expanding the building is not an option, the size of each locker room reflects the space that exists today.

The goal is to make the most of those existing spaces through updated finishes, improved lighting and thoughtful branding design. While the women’s locker room may have appeared darker in the rendering, the image was not intended to represent the final lighting levels of the completed space. Both locker rooms are being designed to feel brighter, refreshed and full of Tiger pride. A new rendering of the women’s locker room has also been posted to more accurately reflect the intended lighting and overall feel of the finished space.
