We are thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with some local nonprofits selected by some of our cast! We will be featuring different nonprofits each show day!

Tonight’s nonprofit is chosen by our character Hannah, who is portrayed by Briana Pudsell

Our Friday evening nonprofit is the Marion County Rescue Squad.

Marion County Rescue Squad (MCRS) is a private, nonprofit emergency medical services agency proudly serving the residents and visitors of Marion County, West Virginia.

Our EMTs, paramedics, and support personnel provide 24-hour emergency medical care, ambulance transportation, interfacility transports, public event coverage, CPR education, and community outreach programs. Every day, our crews answer the call with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to treating every patient as if they were a member of our own family.

At its heart, Marion County Rescue Squad is more than ambulances and emergency lights. It is a group of dedicated men and women who have chosen a life of service, providing care, comfort, and hope to our neighbors during their most vulnerable moments. Serving this community is both our mission and our privilege.

Marion County Rescue Squad is offering CPR, AED, First Aid, and BLS Healthcare Provider training on Friday, July 17th at 5:00 PM at the White Hall Public Safety Building.

Learning CPR is one of the most important skills you can have. In a cardiac arrest, immediate CPR can make the difference between life and death while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.

Whether you need certification for work, want to be prepared for emergencies at home, or simply want to learn a lifesaving skill, we encourage you to join us.

Tonight was a wonderful evening spent with fellow first responders at the White Hall Public Safety Building.

A huge thank you to the Town of White Hall, WV for hosting such a great event and for always taking the time to recognize and appreciate the men and women who serve our communities. We would also like to thank all of the local businesses and sponsors who generously donated food and raffle items to make the evening possible.

It was great to spend time with first responders from across Marion County, enjoy some fellowship, and celebrate the partnerships that help keep our communities safe. 🚑🚒🚓

We were especially glad to see and chat with Senator Mike Oliverio for WV who continues to be a strong advocate for first responders and the important work we do every day.

Thank you as well to our friends at Mon Health for joining us and providing raffle prizes for the evening. We loved the golf game and had blast with you guys!

A special thank you to the students of Whitehall Elementary School for the heartfelt thank-you cards. The kind words, drawings, and messages were truly touching and served as a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do. Those cards will mean a lot to many first responders.🫶🏻

The Marion County Rescue Squad would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Town of White Hall, WV for once again recognizing and supporting the first responders who serve our communities every day.

Tonight, White Hall is hosting a First Responders Appreciation Dinner for all Marion County first responders from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the White Hall Public Safety Building for all first responders!! In addition to a great meal, there will be fellowship, appreciation, and raffle prizes for those who attend.

We are incredibly grateful to the Town of White Hall, its leadership, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this event possible. Your continued support of EMS, fire, law enforcement, dispatchers, and all emergency responders does not go unnoticed.

If you’re a first responder in Marion County, we encourage you to stop by this evening and enjoy the event. Thank you, White Hall, for always taking the time to recognize those who serve and for being such a strong supporter of public safety throughout our county.

Today we’re celebrating Mike Derby’s 21st birthday… and before anyone asks, no, we will not be taking questions regarding the age. We’re just going with the story. 😂

Mike has been a part of the MCRS family for many years and has touched more lives than he probably realizes. Whether it’s caring for patients, helping a coworker through a tough shift, teaching someone something new, or simply making people laugh, Mike leaves an impact everywhere he goes.❤️

He’s a mentor, a friend, and one of those people who makes the squad feel like family. If a cabinet falls apart, a stretcher squeaks, a door won’t close, a light won’t work, or something has mysteriously been “broken for months,” Mike is the guy everyone calls. Honestly, we’re not entirely sure if he’s an EMT who fixes things or a handyman who occasionally rides an ambulance. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Most importantly, Mike has a heart for this job and for the people around him. His willingness to help, his sense of humor, and his dedication to our community have made a lasting difference over the years.

Mike, thank you for everything you do for MCRS. We are lucky to have you, and we’re grateful for the countless ways you’ve helped make this organization what it is today.

Now enjoy your 21st birthday. Just remember… at your age, don’t be doing anything crazy tonight! 😉

We are honored to share that Marion County Rescue Squad has been selected as a featured nonprofit during one performance of Fairmont State University production of Come From Away.

During our featured performance, audience members will have the opportunity to make donations to support Marion County Rescue Squad and our mission of providing emergency medical care, CPR education, community outreach, and lifesaving services throughout Marion County.

As a private, nonprofit EMS agency, support from our community helps us continue investing in the equipment, training, and resources needed to serve our patients and community every day.

Come From Away is an inspiring true story centered on compassion, generosity, and neighbors helping neighbors during a time of crisis. We are grateful to Fairmont State University, the cast, and crew for including us as part of this incredible production and for supporting local nonprofit organizations throughout the show’s run.

Today was a proud day for Marion County Rescue Squad as we became the first EMS agency in West Virginia to receive recognition through the state’s Always Ready for Kids (ARK) Program. 🚑

This recognition highlights our commitment to pediatric readiness and ensuring that when a child needs emergency care, our crews are prepared to provide the highest level of treatment possible.

Achieving this recognition required a significant commitment from our agency, including the designation of a Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator, pediatric-focused training and continuing education, age-appropriate pediatric equipment and medication resources, pediatric quality improvement initiatives, and policies designed to ensure children receive safe, effective, and compassionate care.

We were honored to welcome Erin Timbrook, Coordinator of West Virginia’s EMS for Children and Dr. P.S. Martin, West Virginia State EMS Medical Director and MCRS Agency Medical Director, who presented this recognition to our agency.

During the presentation, those in attendance had the opportunity to hear remarks from Erin Timbrook, Dr. Martin, Marion County Rescue Squad Board of Directors President Geno Guerrieri, Chief Stephanie Vandetta and Assistant Chief and Pediatric Care Coordinator Donna Wade, regarding the importance of pediatric readiness and our agency’s commitment to providing exceptional care to the children and families we serve.

We were also honored to have Erin’s daughter attend the presentation. She shared a sweet and heartfelt message of thanks to Marion County Rescue Squad and spoke about the importance of being prepared to care for children during emergencies. Her words served as a meaningful reminder of why pediatric readiness matters and why programs like ARK are so important.

While we are proud to be the first agency in West Virginia to earn this recognition, this isn’t just about receiving an award. It’s about demonstrating Marion County Rescue Squad’s dedication to our community and our commitment to being prepared when families need us most. Every child deserves the best possible care during an emergency, and this recognition reflects the hard work, training, and passion our staff bring to the job every day.

We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Marion County. Thank you to our providers, leadership team, medical direction, board of directors, and community partners who helped make this achievement possible. This recognition belongs to every member of the Marion County Rescue Squad team! 🚑

Due to ongoing utility work, Morgantown Ave. is CLOSED from Race Street to Lemley Street.

Crews expect the closure to last into tomorrow as work on the issue continues.

Please be aware of workers in the area and use caution while driving, avoid the route if possible!
