Public Announcement: Earthquake and Lahontan Dam Safety
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TCID is aware of the earthquake that occurred yesterday in the region and understands the concern this type of event can raise for residents and water users downstream of Lahontan Dam.
Immediately following the earthquake, TCID personnel were dispatched and conducted a thorough inspection of Lahontan Dam and its related facilities in accordance with established dam safety protocols. These inspections included assessments of the dam embankment, outlet works, spillway structures, and other critical components.
No damage or unusual conditions were discovered. Lahontan Dam is operating normally and continues to perform as designed.
Emergency plans are in place for public notification in the event of a threat to public safety.

The Board voted this morning to set the allocation for both Divisions at 100%. Orders will be taken beginning March 16th.

Truckee-Carson Irrigation District has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Mechanic II (Automotive and Heavy Equipment Maintenance). Salary dependent on experience. Health insurance, enrollment in NV State Retirement, vacation and sick leave. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues related to equipment and fleet. Valid Nevada driver’s license, documentation to work in the US, and ability to pass drug test required. TCID is currently updating it's voter registration records. If your property has updated information (such as an acreage change, added or removed owners, or moved into or out of a trust), please contact Juanita at the District office to update your voter registration.

If you are unsure if your registration needs to be updated, please call the office and we would be happy to check for you.

PLEASE NOTE: District voter registration is SEPARATE from County or Federal voter registration. Your voting rights are tied directly to the water rights you own. Elections are held to determine seats on the District Board of Directors, as well as special elections for important projects. If you have never registered to vote in District elections, please contact the office and we will set up an appointment for you to register.

On June 9th, water card statements were printed and mailed to water users. It was later discovered that there were several water orders missing from these statements. If you suspect that your water card statement is missing a water order, please contact the office for a current balance.
