🎅🌲🎅Happy Holidays
Santa will be visiting Felton neighborhoods on Christmas Eve.
He is planning to depart from Felton Fire Station at 4:45. He will be traveling through the areas of north Felton, south Felton, Forest Lakes, Mount Hermon, and Felton Grove. He will be inside the fire engine and won't be able to make stops, in order to get to all the areas he needs to visit. Be sure to listen for him and be watching for the engine lights.🎅🌲🎅

Our firefighters had a great time meeting our new friend Luna and her family yesterday. Luna was the lucky winner of our “ride to school in a fire engine” prize from SLVE’s Parent’s Night Out. We took a tour of our fire station, checked out the engine, made a stop for donuts, and made it to class just in time for the bell. We love supporting our SLVUSD community and wish all our local students a safe and successful last week of school!

When our friends at call wondering if we want to do some landing zone training, of course the answer is YES! And what makes it better? Including our partners at ! State Park Rangers, and mountain lifeguards got to practice their landing zone size-ups while some of our new firefighter cadets got to practice hot loading the helicopter. Team work really does make the dream work!

Saw appreciation training: We have come to rely on modern tools such as our specially modified rescue chainsaws to speed our operations. However, it’s still good for us to remember how to kick it old school. As part of ventilation training, firefighter cadets cut vent holes utilizing the trusty axe. In the event of a failure of the chainsaw, understanding the skill (and brute force) of swinging an axe will make sure that the job still gets done. Maybe a bit slower, and with some more sweat.

Our next batch of 7 cadets continue to move through the academy process, with a projected graduation date in early June. We can’t wait to have them on the line, and they can’t wait to start serving their community.

🚒Multiple Patient Vehicle Collision🚒

At approximately 6:21pm on Feb 27th, Utility 2397, while preparing for a training event, came upon the scene of a vehicle into multiple cyclists and a tree. Capt Moeller and Capt Rosso quickly sprang to action rapidly assessing the scene and ordering additional resources. An elderly female in a blue Kia had veered off the roadway and collided with several bicyclists and later a tree. It was determined that 4 patients would need transport to hospital, with one requiring an air ambulance. C2300, B2303, E2310, and E2336 responded to the scene to assist with patient care and the logistics of juggling so many responding vehicles in such a narrow stretch of roadway. Our partners established a landing zone for the incoming air ambulance. The driver of the Kia was evaluated and released at scene. is investigating the cause, however it is not believed drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors to the crash. We’d like to thank for their assistance and for being the stellar 911 dispatchers and call takers we rely on!

Felton Fire wishes a speedy recovery to all those involved, and would like to remind the public to drive with caution, and when riding to wear a helmet. We’d also like to remind the public not to drive around road closures or emergency vehicles blocking roadways.
