National Night Out is Tuesday, August 4 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Felton Fire, 131 Kirby Street.

Burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks. Live music. A dunk tank. Fire engines, a CAL FIRE bulldozer, K-9 and drone demonstrations, and more on display.

Free, all ages, no registration. Just come by.

Joining us: Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, California State Parks, California Fish & Wildlife, and Boulder Creek Fire.

The Fire Benefit Assessment has passed.

Following the July 24 public hearing and ballot tabulation, 1,181 ballots were received representing $924,082.26 in total assessed value. Of those, 825 ballots — representing 67.88% of the weighted assessment — were in support. The assessment required less than 50% opposition to pass, and the community delivered.

This means Felton Fire Protection District will have the stable, long-term funding needed to continue serving our community. Thank you to every property owner who participated in this process. Your voice made the difference.

This Friday, July 24 at 6:00 PM your community gathers at Felton Fire Station for the Fire Benefit Assessment public hearing and ballot tabulation. Over 900 ballots have been received.

If you have not yet returned your ballot, it must be hand delivered to Felton Fire Station no later than 6:00 PM this Friday, July 24. Mailing it at this point is not sufficient — it must be received in person.

The public is welcome to attend at 131 Kirby St., Felton.
