Join us on Earth Day for our community's Heritage Tree planting! A Heritage Tree, gifted by America 250-Ohio and their sponsors, will be planted in all 88 of Ohio's counties.

Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend, learn about the significance of the Heritage Tree program, and help plant a living symbol that will grow alongside the next 250 years of American history.

The Findlay Shade Tree Commission members will be in attendance to give out Oak saplings at the event as part of their "Rooted in Findlay: 250 Oaks for America's 250th" project.

It's 4-H week!
What was one of your favorite 4-H projects while growing up?

On this Thankful Thursday, we’re spotlighting our amazing Hancock County Commissioners! Their support shows up in so many ways—funding, volunteering, advising, and even issuing a Proclamation for 4 H Week. We are grateful for their commitment to our youth and our local community.

It was our pleasure to present this proclamation to all the hard-workers at BVC as we honor them here during the month of March!

Hancock County Commissioners officially announced at their meeting this morning that March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month for Hancock County.

Latest update for Sheriff Cortez on road conditions here in Hancock County. We are now at Level 2. The Commissioners' office will be open for business for the remainder of today with our general business meeting rescheduled for 2 pm this afternoon. Please call ahead before visiting any other Hancock County government offices, as they may each have varying office hour availability today.

DOWNGRADE TO LEVEL 2

Sheriff Michael A. Cortez has downgraded the LEVEL 3 to a LEVEL 2 effective January 27th at 0945 hrs. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow and ice. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be on the roadways. Please do not call the Sheriff’s Office for road conditions. Stay tuned to local media for weather updates.

Based on our Sheriff's assessment of the road conditions and ongoing frigid weather here in Hancock County, we are planning to reschedule our Tuesday morning Commissioners' General Business meeting from 9:30 AM to 2 PM. That meeting may be canceled IF the Sheriff keeps the Road Advisory on Level 3 throughout the day on Tuesday, January 27th. In that case, all agenda items on Tuesday's meeting would be moved to Thursday's meeting on January 29th. The Commissioners' office will plan to open for business at 11 AM Tuesday morning only IF the Sheriff reduces the Road Advisory below Level 3 prior to that time. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to monitor the roads and weather conditions.

As a reminder: All Hancock County Government offices will be closed for business for as long as the Sheriff has the Level 3 Road Advisory in place. Stay Home, Stay Warm, Safe Informed, & Stay Safe.

We are very fortunate to have this interchange enhancement installed here in our County - only the 5th one like it in all of Ohio. It innovatively increases the flow of traffic while decreasing the amount of accidents at the same time. What a tremendous asset for both commercial truckers as well as our passenger drivers!
