From the members of the WFC, we send our condolences to the family and friends of Joel. Rest in Peace, Joel.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Deputy Investigator Joel Bonilla.

For more than 31 years, Joel faithfully served the citizens of Berks County with dedication, professionalism, compassion, and integrity. Throughout his career, he touched countless lives through his service and made a lasting impact on this office, his colleagues, and the community he so proudly served.

Joel was more than a coworker—he was a trusted colleague, mentor, and friend. His commitment to helping others, his steady presence, and his willingness to serve will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Today, we mourn not only the loss of a dedicated public servant but also a member of our Berks County Coroner’s Office family. The void left by his passing cannot be measured, and there are simply no words that can fully express the sadness we feel.

We ask that you keep Joel’s family, friends, and fellow members of the Berks County Coroner’s Office in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Joel. Thank you for your years of service, your friendship, and your unwavering commitment to the people of Berks County. Your legacy will live on, and you will never be forgotten.

POOL FILLS!!!!

At this time, we have had an over abundance of pool fill request this year, possibly the most we have ever had. We understand the demand for pool fills and are happy to help when our availability allows.

However, it's important to remember that our members are volunteers who already dedicate countless hours to training, emergency responses, maintenance, public events, fundraising, and administrative responsibilities - all while balancing full-time jobs, family commitments, and personal lives.

Some people may not mind, some may not know, but the water we use must also come from a local creek or water supply that we must draft the water from.

We do our best to help with pool fills when we are able. Due to the personel required to make it a smooth and quick operation, we are no long offering pool fills. At this time we will still assist with a top off, but anything more than 1 load of water(3,000 gallons), we will not be able to assist. Also, anything outside of our primary coverage area we also will not be able to assist.

We appriciate everyone who wants to use a local fire department to be able to give the donation towards them, but with the amount of fill request we got, we will be unable to assist everyone.

SHIRT ORDERS ARE IN!!!!!

Pick-up will be Tuesday the 16th and 23rd from 6-8pm, anyone who is unable to pick-up during those times will have to message the page to set-up a time. No orders will be available for pick-up before the 16th!

The online store will be reopening soon with a few more color options as well as a sleeveless shirt choice for the hot summer months! Stay tuned for that to open!

Today our crew along with Community Fire Company of Virginville, Shoey Fire Company, Union Fire Company #1 of Leesport, and Central Berks Fire Company got together at the training site to do a company level burn. Great teamwork by everyone involved!

At this time the officers and members of the Walnuttown Fire Company send our deepest condolences to Central Berks Police Department on the passing of Officer Yeager. May god give her friends and family the strength needed during this difficult time. Rest in Peace Officer Yeager.

2nd annual car show is set for October 17th! More info to come as we get closer to the event!

This year we are going to use this event as a time to honor our 2 chiefs that we lost in April!!

For those who selected pick-up, please also note we will pick them up and then sort all orders. Once we get the word that they are done, we will update everyone.
