The Compass Class of 2026 was made up of students who accomplished exceptional things, and senior Bryson is no exception ✨

During his Senior Defense, Bryson reflected on some of the experiences that shaped his high school journey and helped prepare him for what comes next.

One standout experience was competing in the national Future City competition, where students imagined and designed what cities might look like 100 years into the future. Bryson also shared how much he grew through his three years in the Loveland Police Department Explorer Program, where he developed leadership skills, responsibility, and confidence through hands-on experience and service.

On top of all that, Bryson challenged himself academically by completing multiple college courses while attending Compass.

And he’s already launching straight into his future: Bryson has been hired as a Park Ranger and is currently completing water certification training that will qualify him to work on, in, and around water, including safety, rescue, and resource management. He graduates on Saturday and starts his job immediately after!

Bryson, your work ethic, determination, and drive have amazed us. We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see where your path leads next.

Two Compass Odyssey of the Mind teams are headed to the 2026 World Finals in Ames, Iowa, this May after becoming the Colorado state champions! We are SO proud of our Compass students!

Compass is one of several Poudre School District schools represented at Worlds this year - a testament the strength of a PSD education!

Odyssey of the Mind brings together creativity, STEM, engineering, performance, teamwork, and problem-solving in an incredible way. Students spend months developing completely original solutions—from costumes and scripts to technical builds and presentations—all created entirely by the students themselves.

This year’s World Finals will include more than 800 teams from over 20 countries, and we are so excited for our Compass students to represent both our school and the broader PSD community on the international stage.

Compass student Jaxton recently received kind recognition from the C.P. Gillette Museum of Arthropod Diversity at Colorado State University for his volunteer work supporting their insect collections.

During his time at the museum, Jaxton helped sort donated specimens, transfer aquatic insects into updated storage vials, and assist with organizing research materials. Museum staff shared appreciation for his care, focus, and reliability, and described him as a “treasure” to their team.

Experiences like this show how students can contribute in meaningful ways beyond the classroom while exploring their interests.

Thank you for representing Compass so thoughtfully, Jaxton.

Last week we celebrated one of our treasured Compass traditions—the 8th grade Rising Up Ceremony.

We could not be more proud of the humans our students are becoming. Creative. Thoughtful. Resilient. Curious. Kind.

There were laughs, happy tears, hugs, memories, and so much joy. Watching this group grow into confident leaders and community-builders has been such a gift.

To our students: keep asking questions, keep being yourselves, and keep finding your true north.

GO COMPASS!!

What an incredible day at the 3rd Annual Compass Comic Con! 🎮🎨🦸

Last Saturday, Compass students transformed our school into a full-scale, student-designed convention celebrating creativity, curiosity, gaming, art, cosplay, and community connection.

✨ Over 270 guests purchased badges to attend✨ More than 100 additional exhibitors, panelists, volunteers, vendors, and community members joined throughout the day.
The event raised $1,900 in profit to support STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programs at Compass.

The day was packed with cosplay, workshops, gaming tournaments, Ignite Talks, art vendors, live demonstrations, creative sessions, and hands-on learning experiences led by students and community members. From chain mail making and horror makeup labs to robotics, leatherworking, and Super Smash Bros tournaments, there was creativity around every corner.

One of the best parts of the event was watching students confidently lead, teach, organize, and create spaces where people of all ages felt welcomed and inspired. Compass Comic Con continues to be a powerful example of student leadership and learning brought to life.

A gigantic thank you to our amazing vendors, sponsors and supporters:

🦦 OtterCares for a $500 grant supporting the event
🎳 Chippers Lanes Entertainment for donating nearly $900 in prize packs for the cosplay contest and gaming tournaments
✨ Additional thanks to Loveland Laser Tag, Games Ahoy, Totally 80s Pizza, and Fort Fun for their generous donations and support.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who showed up to celebrate art, creativity, fandom, and student innovation with our community. The energy all day long was incredible, and we are so proud of the students who made this event possible. 💛
