East Main St. is currently closed down due to an active Structure fire. Fort Kent Fire and Rescue is on scene and Eagle Lake Fire is responding. Please avoid this area while first responders are actively working on this issue. We will update once the road is back open.

Northern Maine Annual Torch Run Success! 🔥🚓

The Annual Torch Run is more than just a run—it is a powerful demonstration of unity among law enforcement agencies and communities across Maine. Through the dedication of participants, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters, the Torch Run helps raise awareness and vital funds for athletes involved with Special Olympics Maine, providing opportunities for competition, inclusion, and personal achievement.

We are proud to stand alongside our law enforcement partners in supporting this important cause and grateful for the teamwork that made this event possible.

A special thank you goes to Corporal Martin of the Maine State Police for providing es**rt assistance and helping ensure a safe route for all participants.

We would also like to recognize Agent Mulcahy and Agent Durost of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, along with Warden Gushee of the Maine Warden Service, for their support and contribution to the event.

The Fort Kent Police Department would like to thank everyone who ran, donated, volunteered, and cheered along the route. Together, we continue to make a difference for Maine's Special Olympics athletes! 💙💛🏃‍♂️🔥

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Day, the Fort Kent Police Department remember and pay tribute to all who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day. We also keep their families, friends, and fellow service members in our thoughts.

As we gather with loved ones this day, let us take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day.
