We had many winners in the Children's Summer Reading Program. Some families had multiple wins, including siblings Jospeh and Charlotte. They came to the library the other day to pick out their prizes from the huge collection of treasure we organized. Many of the prize items came from a generous donor in our community who recognized the enthusiasm and hard work of all the young participants in this year's summer reading program. The table of prizes is still up for a few more days. We called and left messages for all the winners or spoke to them directly. If you heard from us, come by soon..

The Appreciation Picnic is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, at the Fort Kent Public Library! If you are a library volunteer, staff, board member, donor, or member of Les Amis, please join us on Wednesday for grilling and potluck yumminess. We're "closing" the library at four so we can set up, but then the fun begins around 5. We'll have some good eats, courtesy of the Fort Ken Masonic Lodge and sides and treats from our board of trustees. After sharing a meal and some good times, many of us will end the evening at the last Music in the Park concert.

The eclipse will recede and be over by 2:50. At the Fort Kent Public Library, we have special glasses to view the eclipse, which we will share with folks. Just ask at the circulation desk.
