May 30th is the last Saturday in May. What better way to spend that day than at the Fort Kent Public Library. Fresh off of her debut as a guest reader for Children's Story Time two weeks ago, Dona Saucier returns for another fun-filled session of stories and games for the little ones. The fun begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday. This event is free to everyone.

Calling all readers! It's time to hit the road!
FORT KENT, Maine - The Fort Kent Public Library is thrilled to announce the Route One Summer Reading Challenge, and we want YOU behind the wheel!
US Route 1, which stretches all the way from our own Fort Kent, Maine to Key West, Florida, is turning 100 years old in 2026, and we're celebrating in style. Starting June 2 through September 1, you can travel the full length of this iconic highway… without ever leaving your favorite reading chair.
Here's how it works:
Register your "vehicle" for just $10
Read books set in, or written by authors from, each of the 15 states along US Route 1
Collect tickets as you travel from Maine to Florida (or Florida to Maine, your choice!)
Watch out for detours & construction zones with mystery envelopes along the way
Stop at 5 souvenir shops for special giveaways (while supplies last!)
Earn bonus tickets and be entered to win a gift bag filled with Fort Kent Public Library goodies!
Whether you're a speed reader or a leisurely cruiser, there's a road trip adventure waiting for you this summer.
Stop by the library to register and pick up your map. Let's ride!

Hey folks! Weekends of clear skies and 70-degree days can be few and far between in northern Maine, so be sure to explore the community in comfort this weekend. At the Fort Kent Public Library, we are starting out the Saturday with the creativity and enthusiasm of Annette Sirmens as our guest reader at Children's Story Time. Parents, grandparents and guardians are welcome to bring their little ones for a cozy hour of where Annette will read children's picture books, teach her little audience fun and useful songs, and guide the kids through fun activities. It begins at 10 a.m. this Saturday!

A few weeks ago we welcomed the Maine Women's Lobby to the C3NT3R Access Point at the Fort Kent Public Library. The group met in the functioning multimedia center on the Main Street side of the library and engaged in a great art activity. The C3NT3R is a facility open to the public. Organizations and individuals can reserve the space for private functions as well as public programming. Reach out to the FKPL for more information.
