Today is National Beach Day! 🏖️The perfect opportunity to talk about the 2026 Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. Help keep Broward Beaches pristine by volunteering at the 41st annual event.
🗓️ Saturday, September 19th
🕘 9AM to noon

There will be 14 locations around the County. Last year, more than 1,800 volunteers collected over 5,000 pounds of trash! Help us exceed our goal.

Registration is not required but is encouraged. Pre-registered volunteers get a free T-shirt or hat, while supplies last. https://www.broward.org/MarineResources

It's mosquito season! 🦟 The Mosquito Control Section will be spraying larvicide in areas of Hollywood and Pembroke Pines, from Monday, August 31st through Friday, September 4th.

Truck-mounted sprayers be out between 10 PM and 6 AM as a proactive measure to kill mosquitoes, known to potentially spread diseases such as dengue, yellow fever, and chikungunya.

This is also your reminder to empty any standing water on your property, frequently found in buckets, tires, planters, birdbaths, and fountains, you can help by emptying it after a rainstorm to prevent potential mosquito breeding habitats.
