๐ BIG NEWS FROM VERNON TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT ๐
Vernon Township Fire Department is proud to announce the full-time staffing of Medic 431 at our Fortville station with the hiring of six additional firefighters.
As Vernon Township continues to grow, so does the demand for emergency services. In 2025 alone, VTFD experienced a 10.5% increase in calls for service, with simultaneous incidents occurring nearly 1 out of every 5 calls. The addition of a second fully staffed ambulance helps us stay proactive in meeting the needs of our residents, businesses, and visitors.
What does full-time staffing of Medic 431 mean for our community?
โ
Faster EMS response capabilities
โ
Improved ambulance coverage throughout Vernon Township
โ
Increased availability of fire suppression crews
โ
Better response during multiple simultaneous emergencies
โ
Continued investment in the safety and well-being of our residents
Medic 431 will serve as the primary ambulance for Fortville. This enhancement strengthens our ability to deliver critical emergency care as quickly and efficiently as possible.
In addition to EMS response, our firefighter/paramedics and firefighter/EMTs are fully trained firefighters capable of supporting fire suppression, search and rescue, and other emergency operations throughout the township.
We would like to thank the Vernon Township Fire Territory Board, our local town councils, and the community for their continued support as we work to stay ahead of the growing needs of Vernon Township.
Please join us in welcoming our newest members to the VTFD family!๐ฅ
