📢 Fourth in Fredericksburg Schedule Update Due to Extreme Heat

Due to extreme heat and out of an abundance of caution for public safety, the Fourth in Fredericksburg Festival at Riverfront Park on Sophia Street will close early today at 1 p.m.

The FXBG Rubber Ducky Derby is postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

The 250th Fourth of July at Ferry Farm is closing at 2pm today.

The City’s Cooling Relief Area located in the lobby of the City Center Building at 601 Caroline Street is open today until 5:30pm with seating and bottled water available.

FREDERICKSBURG CANNOT STOP WINNING

WE DID IT, FXBG 🎉🏆

Fredericksburg’s Caroline Street has been named Best Main Street in the South by Garden & Gun Magazine following a three-week, bracket-style competition that drew hundreds of thousands of votes.

In one of the most competitive finals to date, Fredericksburg Main Street faced DeLand, Florida, with results too close to call until the final moments. In the end, our community secured the win.

A great new business here in Central Park! BY THE WAY, if you want the charcuterie board experience but without getting an entire board for yourself, they actually have individual cups and boxes. It's a very neat concept!

Water mains are pipes that carry drinking water to homes and businesses. Water main breaks can occur any time of year, but are more likely to occur in the winter and unfortunately cannot be predicted. Freezing and thawing soil creates movement in the ground that can bend or shift water mains.

Maintenance and repair of the City’s infrastructure, including water mains, are planned for on a yearly basis. This year is no exception. Our Fredericksburg Public Works staff is on call for water emergencies and they work to address known breaks as quickly as possible. Their top priority is to restore water service to our community with efficiency and safety in mind. We appreciate residents respecting the work zones of our workers and obeying traffic detours as needed.

Water emergency repair times vary greatly – often a repair can be completed before an alert can even be generated. Please note that alerts are sent when a repair is anticipated to take an extended amount of time. The public is encouraged to subscribe at FredericksburgAlert.com > Water/Sewer Disruptions.
