Happy EMS Week to the incredible team at Sumner County EMS!

Sure, it was quiet… until someone reminded us it was EMS Week. Now it’s our turn to recognize the people who answer every call with skill, patience, and compassion-even when the addresses make no sense and the caller swears they’re “definitely not having chest pain” while actively describing chest pain.

Thank you for handling the chaos with professionalism, humor, and dedication through long shifts, missed meals, caffeine-fueled days, and nonstop calls for service. No matter how hectic things get, you continue to make a difference in our community every single day.

From all of us at the Sumner County ECC, thank you for being our partners in public safety. We appreciate everything you do and are proud to work beside you every day.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and may your reports be short and your hospital wait times even shorter. 😉

Happy EMS Week!

We had a very sweet surprise at the ECC today! Huge thank you to Mayor David Leath for stopping by with Rita Leath’s famous homemade cinnamon rolls, homemade cinnamon rolls with chocolate ganache, and homegrown and canned pickled okra! Everything was absolutely delicious and disappeared within minutes. We appreciate the support and kindness shown to our team so much!

Happy Mother's Day!

We owe our moms a serious debt of gratitude. Not just today, but every day.

Mothers, you have established a foundation on which your children can build their place in this world. A foundation that, without you, would not be possible. We show our mothers our true love and appreciation for them by the good that we do throughout our lives.

Mothers nurture, teach, correct, and provide. They are encouraging, strong, and wise. Sacrifice isn't just what moms do, it's an innate characteristic that a mother has no matter the age of her child.

Thank you, mothers!

Be kind. Be the example.

April Stats...

Our telecommunicators had another busy month processing calls and dispatching resources. They were even able to have a little fun during National Public Safety Telecommunicator week! We're thankful for the support from the community and our public safety partners.

Be the reason someone smiles today.
Be kind. Be the example.

Please join us in celebrating Sumner County TN’s Telecommunicator of the Year — Kasumi Magnis!!

Kasumi is the kind of person who lights up every shift she walks into, often arriving for night shift with a wagon full of crafts, projects, and enough positivity to carry the whole room through the long hours between calls. (And yes… she hand knits her own sweaters, which somehow makes her even more iconic.)

Beyond her creativity and fun spirit, Kasumi is an exceptional telecommunicator. She is dependable, professional, calm under pressure, and always ready to support her team. Whether she’s assisting coworkers during high-stress moments, helping dispatchers without hesitation, or providing callers with reassurance and respect during emergencies, Kasumi consistently goes above and beyond.

Her dedication, motivation, and lifesaving accomplishments speak volumes about the incredible impact she makes every single day. She rarely misses a shift, always arrives ready to give her best, and brings compassion, strength, and professionalism to every call.

Kasumi is more than deserving of this recognition, she is a true asset to Sumner County and an inspiration to her team.

Congratulations, Kasumi, on being named Telecommunicator of the Year!
