In case you were wondering. Brush 11 returned from its most recent Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) deployment this afternoon. They were deployed and redeployed several times since they left on August 1st, returning from the Wright’s Spring Fire today just outside of Klamath Falls. Welcome back Randy and Rachel, get some rest.

Our members are ready to serve our community and others at a moments notice. Missing out on family members birthdays, family and farm animal growth and development, and sleeping in a real bed while out (with the rare prepositioning assignment!).

I would be remiss not to acknowledge the family members left behind to keep the family unit together in their absence, the farm hand(s) left behind to keep the barnyard intact, and our GFD members stepping up responding, answering the calls, and filling the vacancies in their absence.

We are geared up, back in service, and ready to answer the call both locally and within the region as needed.

It has come to our attention that there was a recent Emergency Alert Activation broadcast via local television network(s). This Alert was for an incident that was well outside of our jurisdiction. The problem was the digitized voice was reportedly not discernible. We would recommend that you consider logging in to;

We still have two Chief Officers, and Brush Rig 11 with two members out on various deployments around the state. Things have been busy locally as well. Be mindful of your outdoor activities it’s about to get hot again and still extremely dry despite the recent thunderstorm. OSFM has some helpful tips to consider in the attached link. Be safe out there!

Highway 47 is being diverted at Old 47 for a serious crash, we have two critically injured patients, and two Lifeflight helicopters en route. Expect delays between Forest Grove and Gaston.

Update: the highway will be back open soon, all fire and medical crews have cleared the scene. One patient went by ground ambulance with serious injuries, one went by Lifeflight with critical injuries.
