The Valley of Phoenix Scottish Rite had a very productive day at the St. Mary's Food Bank Volunteer Day.

We were part of a great effort of volunteers who packaged 1512 Emergency Food Boxes, 857 Kids Cafe Bags, and 330 Boxes of Bread. That's 2699 neighbors served. It is certainly hard work, but it is also very fulfilling work. Especially when you know you are lending a helping hand and living the Masonic Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity for our community.

Special thanks and gratitude to our brethren and friends who came out to assist: Illustrious Brother Ron Brooker, Bro. David Harrower, and special guest, David Birch.

Thank you to all the Brothers, Ladies, and Friends who support our efforts for this and all Scottish Rite and Masonic charity and assistance in our Valley, Orient, and the State of Arizona.

The Valley of Phoenix Scottish Rite is excited to announce a special event where we will be hosting the Scottish Rite Degree Team from Germania Lodge No. 46 of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana on Saturday October 17, 2026 for an exemplification of the Scottish Rite Entered Apprentice Degree.

Germania Lodge is one of the few Lodges in the United States authorized to exemplify the Scottish Rite Craft Degrees and we invite you to join us on this rare occasion to learn more about the Scottish Rite and experience a Degree presentation rarely seen in the United States.

Our own Deputy Grand Master, RW Bro. Eric Dupree, Sr. will be the exemplar candidate for the event which will also include educational presentations, a fantastic lunch, and wonderful fellowship. We hope to see you there!

The Fellowcraft

DUTIES: To increase in knowledge and improve in social discourse. To maintain secrecy, practice charity and keep a tongue of good report.

LESSONS: Despite the lapse of barbarous time, the secrets of Freemasonry are safely lodged in the repository of the mason. By using symbols of the builder's trade, wise and serious truths are communicated to Craft unimpaired by the passage of time.

FOR REFLECTION: What is secrecy and is Masonry a secret society? What role do you play in passing the secrets of Masonry from one Brother to another?
