Friends of Makoshika

Friends of Makoshika Friends of Makoshika is a non-profit organization of volunteers that help to support Montana's largest State Park. Membership is $10 yearly and $100 lifetime.

Friends of Makoshika is a non-profit organization established in 1992 with the purpose of promoting & supporting Makoshika State Park, located near Glendive, Montana. Some of the activities sponsored by the Friends of Makoshika (FOM) is Buzzard Day 5k, 10k and Fun Run and Shakespeare in the Park.

(Glendive, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today: Demolishing and disposal of the Bluebird Trail bridge at Makoshika State Park

On Tuesday August 18 and Wednesday August 19, Montana FWP Parks and Outdoor Recreation staff and volunteers will be completing the demolishing and disposal of the 2nd bridge on the Bluebird Trail in Makoshika State Park. Staff will also be putting in a new creek crossing for hikers to use so that access to the rest of the trail is not lost.

During this time, for safety reasons, the Bluebird Trail will be closed to visitors. Makoshika State Parks apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
