We’re excited to announce that Kona Ice will be joining us for the DCBE Acton VFD Open House on October 3rd!

Kona Ice will be there from 2:00–3:00 PM!

Come out, tour the station, meet your local firefighters, check out the trucks, and grab a Kona Ice while you’re here!

Today, we had the opportunity to take Boat 40 out and be on the water to provide assistance if anything arose during C.A.S.T. for Kids!

This event means so much to us. It’s such a special day when community members, Granbury ISD staff, volunteers, and families come together to give children with special needs the opportunity to get out on the water, experience fishing, and make some incredible memories.

We were so excited and honored to be a part of such a special event and to help make sure everyone had a fun and safe morning on the water!

Thank you to everyone who helps make C.A.S.T. for Kids possible. Days like today are what community is all about!

DCBE-Acton Volunteer Fire Department is aware of the haze and smoke currently visible in our area from fires burning in surrounding areas and neighboring counties.

At this time, there are NO active fires within our immediate response area.

With the continued hot, dry conditions and burn ban, we ask everyone to please be extra cautious with anything that could create a spark.

Please be mindful of:
• Trailer safety chains dragging on the roadway
• Outdoor work or equipment that may create sparks
• Welding, grinding, or cutting outdoors
• Cigarette butts — never throw them from a vehicle or onto the ground
• Any other activity that could accidentally ignite dry grass or vegetation

It only takes ONE spark.

Conditions are extremely dry, and a small spark can quickly turn into a fast-moving grass fire.

If you see an active fire or immediate danger, call 911.

This morning, our DCBE-Acton VFD firefighters were honored to be a part of the First Responders Breakfast Drive-Through at Acton Elementary School.

Our responders were so busy visiting with the students, sharing smiles, and making sweet memories that they didn’t manage to snap many pictures of their own but thankfully, Acton Elementary captured a few moments and we wanted to share.

We felt so much love and appreciation from the students and staff this morning as we came together to remember the events of September 11, 2001 25 years ago today.

It was a heartbreaking day that changed our country forever. Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away.

Thank you, Acton Elementary, for including our firefighters in such a meaningful morning and for showing our first responders so much love. 🇺🇸🚒

25 years later, we still remember. We will never forget.

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — 9/11/2001 🇺🇸

Today, members of DCBE Acton VFD honored the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, by completing a 9/11 tribute workout.

Wearing their gear and SCBA, they climbed in remembrance of the 343 FDNY firefighters who answered the call that morning and never returned home.

Every step was taken for someone who could no longer take it themselves. Every drop of sweat was a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood shown on one of our nation’s darkest days.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember their names, their courage, and their sacrifice.
