No measurable rain since July and 50-100 degree days so far this summer . Rural vegetation is at tinderbox stage . The smallest spark even a discarded cigarette can result in a large fire.

In case you were wondering... we DID hit 100° again and it was dry. Here are the latest rankings.

Wow ! What a great community we have the pleasure of serving!
We had the unfortunate incident where we lost a chainsaw yesterday. We posted up hoping that it would be returned .

Today, less than 24 hours later we were blessed with a donated Stihl chainsaw and a brand new Husqvarna chainsaw donated by generous citizens . We didn’t get your names … but a huge thank you from all the firefighters at GVFD!

We have been blessed today with 2 donated chainsaws from members of the community . Thank you so much from every firefighter at GVFD !

Enroute to a grass fire today , our Brush 3 truck lost a black plastic box containing a Stihl chain saw . The truck did turn around to retrieve it but a motorist loaded the box and left the scene prior.
If you have the chainsaw or know who may have it , please contact us at 817-579-1111 or drop it off at 1701 West Pearl St. No questions asked !

Granbury , Pecan Plantation and Lipan Fire Departments were attached to Godley FD as part of a strike team yesterday on the Palo Pinto fire. This strike team was able to save a family’s prized possession last night, their home .
Great work strike team !

A huge thank you to Sarah Britten with Concho Hearts Hospice and the Granbury American Legion for their much needed wildfire donations. These donations will go towards feeding and hydrating firefighters onscene.
