Thank you North Hood County VFD for taking care of our telecommunicators!!

To wrap up National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we delivered lunch from Chick-fil-A Granbury and spent some time with the Hood County Sheriff's Office Dispatchers today!

Many people don't realize that a dispatcher's job starts long before the sirens. Their role is multifaceted and high-stakes:

• The First Link: They are the very first point of contact in a crisis, often performing "phone-triage" to assess life-threatening situations in seconds.

• Pre-Arrival Lifesavers: Dispatchers provide critical instructions—like CPR coaching or bleeding control—that save lives before an ambulance even pulls into the driveway.

• The Guardian of the Field: They monitor our locations, track our safety, and relay vital intelligence so first responders know exactly what they are walking into.

We are proud to serve alongside such a professional team. Thank you for all you do for Hood County! 👏
