Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute GPCI develops 21st Century, scholarly leaders by providing a STEM and college readiness environment.

We are proud to celebrate Robert Emrich, who attended the Washington Leadership Training Institute a few weeks ago in Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸

As the National Vice President of SkillsUSA, Robert joined hundreds of members, advisors, and leaders from across the country for a week of leadership development, collaboration, and advocacy for career and technical education (CTE).

Through this experience, Robert strengthened his leadership skills, connected with fellow student leaders, and gained new perspectives to carry into the year ahead.

We are so proud of Jayden Gonzalez, who was recently named one of three Swimmers of the Meet for SGP, an honor voted on by his teammates!

Jayden made a splash in the pool, earning victories as the anchor leg in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay. He also claimed 1st place in the 100 Freestyle!

PINK OUT DAY at GPCI!💗

On Friday, we painted the building pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Our HOSA chapter came together to create an opportunity for students to show their support by writing uplifting and encouraging messages on sticky notes during lunch.

These heartfelt messages served as reminders of hope, strength, courage, and the importance of standing together in the fight against breast cancer.

We are so excited to introduce you to Ms. Vanee Laredo, our Texas college advisor for the 2026–2027 school year!

Ms. Laredo will be on our campus every Tuesday and Thursday, providing guidance and support to our students as they navigate the college admissions process and more. Our scholars look forward to Fridays—not just because it’s the last day of the week, but because Friday Enrichment is something special at GPCI!

At the end of a long, hard week, our scholars get the opportunity to let their hair down, have some fun, and simply enjoy being kids! From crafts and puzzles to sports, dancing, and so much more, there’s something for everyone. 🧩🎨🏀💃🏽

These enrichment activities give our scholars a chance to explore their interests, connect with friends, and recharge before heading into the weekend.

This past week, we celebrated Start With Hello Week, an initiative focused on helping students feel seen, included, connected, and a true sense of belonging at GPCI!

Today, our 7th grade scholars had the opportunity to visit Texas Christian University (TCU) as part of their AVID field trip!

From exploring the campus to learning more about college life and future opportunities, our scholars were able to see firsthand what it means to dream big and plan for their future. AVID is all about college and career readiness, and experiences like this help our scholars connect today’s learning to tomorrow’s possibilities.

Thank you to all who help make this field trip a success for our scholars, especially our parent volunteers! 🐸
