As we prepare to welcome our students back into our halls for the start of a new school year, we offer this adaptation of a Jesuit prayer:

Gracious Lord, as we begin this new school year, we thank you for the renewal of the past months and our safe return to this community.

We thank you for the promise of the days ahead and for the blessing of your accompaniment. May we be gentle with ourselves while striving to serve your greater glory, and may we always be a source of support, encouragement and love to others.

St. Angela, watch over the days of our youth.

The Ursuline Centre was honored to host the Kateri Northwest Ministry Institute retreat this past weekend. The retreat, led by Fr. Mike Fitzpatrick, S.J., is a training program in leadership for Native American Catholics. Mission is to empower native American Catholics to serve their people and affirm their cultural and spiritual identity. Many thanks to Fr. Mike, Jenny Edgren, Sr.Mary Dostel, OSU (ret.) , Gordo Horn and other Kateri Institute board members and staff for making this a worthwhile and moving in-person retreat!

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Sam Williamson earlier this week. Sam was not only a beloved and respected engineer here at Ursuline Centre for over 15 years, but also a legendary figure in our community and a friend to all. His kindness and compassion will be missed by all of us—for we are most certainly blessed for knowing him.
