Head Start has served children and families of the Green Bay Area Public School District since 1967! Green Bay Head Start serves 341 children and families.

In 1966, Green Bay was selected as one of the very first sites for the Head Start program.

Summer Meals aren't over once Summer School is out! Summer Meals will continue at parks from August 3-14, 2026, and will expand to include meal service at Edison, Eisenhower, and Webster Parks.

Technically the school year ended a month and a half ago, but the friendships and family connections that were established don't have an end. ❤️💙

Families in the Lime Green Room set up a park play date and cookout this summer (several of them actually), and even invited Ms. Megan and her family. This classroom community extends beyond the classroom.

Enjoy a baseball game while supporting Green Bay Schools! ⚾ Watch the Green Bay Rockers Baseball Club take on the Royal Oak Leprechauns on July 25, 2026, at Capital Credit Union Park. Tickets are $15, with $7 from every ticket going back to GBAPS. Each ticket comes with a ball cap. 🧢

Your child deserves a Head Start! If your child will be 3 or 4 years old on OR before September 1, you are eligible to register for 3-year-old Head Start, 4-year-old Head Start program for the 2026-27 school year.

Head Start is a federally-funded child development program designed provide preschool children with a comprehensive program to meet their emotional, social, health, nutritional and psychological needs.

When your child attends the Green Bay Public Schools Head Start Program, his or her first classroom experience is truly first-class! From reading and story-telling to recognizing sounds and shapes, each child receives personal attention from state-certified teachers who strengthen basic academic skills in Reading, Math and Science, and foster personal growth.
