Fort Howard Elementary School Fort Howard Elementary School is in the heart of downtown on Green Bay, Wisconsin's westside.

Fort Howard Elementary is one of the oldest and most historic schools in Green Bay. It rests in the center of one of the oldest historic sites in Wisconsin -- on the site of colonial Fort Howard! Keeping with the tradition of excellence at Fort Howard Elementary School, our staff is involved in the process of creating a school vision and mission to guide us through the next several years of school improvement. Throughout the year, staff members analyze student data to make informed instructional decisions that align with our core values and vision.

The 2026 Operational Referendum is a four-year, non-recurring referendum. The District is requesting only what it needs to address inflationary pressures, while maintaining its current efforts to improve academic outcomes, keep class sizes stable, and preserve the diverse programming families and communities have shared that they value. The referendum does not add programming or expand costs.

The referendum requests the following:
🔵 $29M for 2027-28
🔵 $36M for 2028-29
🔵 $44M for 2029-30
🔵 $49M for 2030-31

September is Better Breakfast Month! We serve breakfast at 34 schools in the Green Bay Area Public School District.

Breakfast is planned following USDA guidelines on nutrition and includes fruit, whole grains, protein, and milk. If your child qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch, that benefit is eligible at breakfast too!

Why is the District asking voters to consider an operational referendum on November 3, 2026?

Four key factors have contributed to this need:

• The District's current $16.5 million annual operational referendum expires this school year.
• State revenue has not kept pace with inflation.
• Costs for transportation, utilities, classroom supplies, and technology continue to rise.
• Student enrollment is declining at both the national and state level.

If state funding had kept pace with inflation over time, the District would have approximately $60 million more in revenue this school year.

Fun Fact: She collects magnets from places she and her husband have visited. They have over 35 magnets and counting!

What a GREAT day of teamwork, problem-solving, and Pioneers working together! 🎉 Our students put in the hard work, encouraged one another, tackled challenges as a team, and showed what it means to be part of a strong school community.

Our Pioneers truly brought our GREAT motto to life by showing Grit, Respect, Engagement, Accountability, and Teamwork throughout the day! 💪

We are SO proud of the effort, perseverance, and GREATness our students demonstrated. A huge shoutout to everyone who helped make our first Field Day/Bootcamp such a success!

We had our very first school assembly, and what a GREAT way to celebrate! 🥳 We recognized our amazing students for attending school regularly and for all the hard work, effort, and dedication they’ve shown during the first month of school.

We had so much fun celebrating our students who were at school! Students received a special pencil and enjoyed a bubble and dance party when they came in from recess! 🫧💃🕺
