Chappell Elementary School

Chappell Elementary School Chappell Elementary is an International Baccalaureate World School on Green Bay's west side. At Chappell, we believe healthy kids make for healthy learners.

To meet the instructional needs of our diverse learners, special programming is delivered by specially-certified staff throughout the school day. Chappell was one of the first schools that became a THRIVE school. THRIVE is a wellness partnership between Bellin Health and the Green Bay Area Public School District. The aim of the program is to create a school-based framework that addresses populatio

n-specific determinates of health to increase learning and wellness. Chappell is a technology-rich school which has a 1:1 laptop program in grades 3 – 5 and a beginning 1:1 program in 2nd grade. Students have a technology plan and outcomes at each grade level. Students are very engaged and perform high level tasks by the time they are in 5th grade. The school also utilizes iPod touches, student response systems and flip video cameras. Furthermore, Chappell is one of the first public elementary International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme schools in Wisconsin and is an authorized IB PYP school. With the IB PYP program we have implemented a foreign language program during the 2011-2012 school year. This program is a full immersion program and will look to challenge all students. The Chappell staff is characterized by a very strong work ethic, effective and consistent collaboration, and dedication to the use of best instructional practices. Our staff stresses the importance of close collaboration with one another, our parents, and our community. We are dedicated to the belief that all children can learn, and we provide a differentiated learning environment to accomplish this goal. Additionally, two of our current staff are winners of the Partners in Education Golden Apple Award. Furthermore, due to the collaborative efforts of the entire school community, Chappell was named a Wisconsin School of Recognition for 2010-2011.
