Danz Elementary

Danz Elementary Danz Elementary is a school on the east side of Green Bay that prepares all students to be college, career and community ready.

The staff at Danz Elementary believes in creating and sustaining a positive environment for learning. Through a school-wide approach, staff continually teach and model respectful, attentive, responsible and appreciative behaviors. The staff supports all students through collaboration and building relationships with families. Community partnerships also assist by providing resources for the needs of students and families of Danz Elementary. Our after school program through the Boys & Girls Club completes a comprehensive approach to ensuring all students have a place to learn and grow. Our two-way bilingual program is a highly-effective Spanish/English immersion program, with instruction in Spanish and English every day. Students who are native speakers in one language help the students in the other language. The two-way bilingual program is extended into Edison Middle School, and many English-speaking students enter high school testing into Spanish 3, 4, or even AP Spanish! We are striving every day to ensure all of the students at Danz will become college, career and community ready.

The 2026 Operational Referendum is a four-year, non-recurring referendum. The District is requesting only what it needs to address inflationary pressures, while maintaining its current efforts to improve academic outcomes, keep class sizes stable, and preserve the diverse programming families and communities have shared that they value. The referendum does not add programming or expand costs.

The referendum requests the following:
🔵 $29M for 2027-28
🔵 $36M for 2028-29
🔵 $44M for 2029-30
🔵 $49M for 2030-31

September is Better Breakfast Month! We serve breakfast at 34 schools in the Green Bay Area Public School District.

Breakfast is planned following USDA guidelines on nutrition and includes fruit, whole grains, protein, and milk. If your child qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch, that benefit is eligible at breakfast too!

Why is the District asking voters to consider an operational referendum on November 3, 2026?

Four key factors have contributed to this need:

• The District's current $16.5 million annual operational referendum expires this school year.
• State revenue has not kept pace with inflation.
• Costs for transportation, utilities, classroom supplies, and technology continue to rise.
• Student enrollment is declining at both the national and state level.

If state funding had kept pace with inflation over time, the District would have approximately $60 million more in revenue this school year.

The Green Bay Area Public School District has built strong momentum in student growth, high-quality programs, and safe, supportive schools.

To continue that progress, GBAPS is asking residents to consider a four-year, non-recurring operational referendum on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Property taxes will not increase as a result of an approved referendum.

A new school year means new friends, new goals, new adventures, and infinite possibilities!

When you're here, anything is possible. Every school day is a chance to learn something new, connect with others, discover your strengths, and take one more step toward your dreams.

The second week of school is a shorter one - there is no school on Monday, September 7, 2026, in recognition of Labor day. We can't wait to see our students in class Tuesday - Friday! 🐬
