Join Alan Mann for a pre-broadcast talk on the Metropolitan Opera’s production of 𝙀𝙡 Ú𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙤 𝙎𝙪𝙚ñ𝙤 𝙙𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖 𝙮 𝘿𝙞𝙚𝙜𝙤, which will be broadcast live in theaters on Saturday, May 30.

Alan Mann is the Artistic Director of the Opera Theater of Connecticut.

The Guilford Free Library will be closed on Monday 3/25 for Memorial Day, but we will be back on Tuesday with more programs for you! Come to Time for Twos, Sunshine Storytime, or Thursday's Evening Storytime where a high school volunteer will be making Oobleck with kids! Or, attend our Toddler Dance Party, or read to a therapy dog. All of this and more happening at the GFL's children's department for you!

Another season, another reason to support the Friends of the Guilford Free Library’s annual Spring Book Sale!

The sale offers gently used hardcover and paperback fiction and nonfiction for adults and children, as well as books on art, cooking, gardening and more. Also, mass market paperbacks, DVDs, CDs and jigsaw puzzles. Everything is in excellent condition and offered at unbeatable prices.

The sale will take place on the front patio and in the Meeting Room, rain or shine.

All proceeds from the sale go to support the Library—to buy books; sponsor programs for children, teens, and adults; purchase equipment, software, and hardware; and to provide funds for staff development.

***And if you’re doing any Spring Cleaning, please consider donating used books in saleable condition to the Friends’ fundraising efforts. There is a conveniently placed table for donations at the Library’s parking-lot entrance.

𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗻 graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and completed her Family Medicine residency training at WVU Medicine’s United Hospital Center in 2024. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is passionate about health and fitness. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, spending time with family and friends, and flying small airplanes.

The Guilford Free Library's Children's Department has a bunch of programs for you to participate in this week! K-Pop Demon Hunters 3-week dance workshop begins on Monday, Tween Machine Sewing classes begin on Thursday, weekly One's, Two's, and Babytime classes resume, dance and read at Sunshine storytime, or read and get crafty during an evening storytime.
