LAST CHANCE: 48 Hours Left to "Spread the Love"! 🥪❤️

The regional PB&J Collection Challenge for Hunger Action Month ends tomorrow, October 1st!

Our local municipalities across Hampton Roads—including Isle of Wight County, Williamsburg, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, Smithfield, Windsor, Norfolk, and Franklin—are making their final push to support the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.

They need your help to cross the finish line!

How to Make an Immediate Impact (Before Time Runs Out):

1. Drop Off Jars Today or Tomorrow: Drop off unopened jars of peanut butter and jelly at participating city and county drop-box locations before end-of-day tomorrow.

2. Order Online for Direct Delivery: The quickest way to participate right now is to order peanut butter or jelly on Amazon and ship it directly to a collection drop box:👉 Amazon Link in Comments

Every single jar counts toward helping local families and supporting our Hampton Roads community!

Our Children's Holiday fund helps bring holiday magic to families of the Peninsula by partnering with local nonprofits to put on events and provide services.

We are able to make this happen through generous donations from our community, which we are eternally grateful for!

We are excited to continue one of our newer partnerships with the Ferguson Center for the Performing Arts that, for every ticket sold to their “Family Series,” donates $1 directly to the Children's Holiday Fund!

The wait is officially over! ☀️📰 The Summer Edition of The Peninsula Perspective is out!

In this issue, our CEO Adelia Thompson shares a beautiful reflection on the difference between being thankful and being grateful. While thankfulness is a wonderful moment-to-moment expression, gratitude runs deeper—it’s an utter, soul-encompassing sense of blessing. And looking across our community this season, "grateful" is the only word that fits.

Here is a look at the inspiring stories of impact and gratitude inside this edition:
👏 Record-Breaking Give Local 757: You showed up in historic numbers! Hampton Roads gave more money and made more gifts to more organizations than ever before. This is game-changing support for the nonprofits serving our neighbors.

🎨 Newport News Public Art Foundation: We are honored by their trust in us to help care for their resources, and so grateful for the beautiful art across Newport News that invites us to find delight in unexpected places.

🎓 Fueling Big Dreams: Celebrating the incredible students receiving support from our 23 scholarship funds as they dive into their "next."

🍎 Entrepreneurial Educators: Spotlighting the dedicated teachers who received educator grants this year, made possible by Langley Federal Credit Union channeling support across the Hampton Roads and beyond.

🎄 Christmas in July! A massive thank you to the sponsors and donors keeping our Children's Holiday Fund thriving, bringing real joy to families when they need it most.

Grab a cool drink, find a quiet spot, and dive into these stories of community grace. Read the full summer edition here:
