Cooler temperatures are expected especially this weekend across the region. The chances of temperatures remaining below 70 degrees is between 85 and 100% across the region this coming weekend.

If you're anything like me, fall means that it's time for soup season! And this week, temperatures are looking perfect for a bowl of chicken noodle, tomato, potato or caldo de res 🍲. Temperatures are going to steadily fall this week as a low pressure system moves to the north for the first half of the week, then a second low pressure system during the latter half. Perfect for a hot bowl of soup! 🍲🥶

Chances for additional rain remain higher (60-80%) in the Sierra Nevada today, with more isolated (10-20%) chances in the San Joaquin Valley. While a few showers are developing Fresno County and southward as of 2 PM, chances are highest later this afternoon into the evening.

Temperatures are likely to warm up this weekend to closer to average conditions for this time of year. The warmest weather over the next few days looks to be this coming Sunday and Monday.

Precipitation totals from Thursday resulted in new record amounts for Bakersfield (0.47 inches) and Merced (1.40 inches). The previous records were 0.05 inches and 0.37 inches, which have stood since 1899 and 1973, respectively.
