Sunday, June 7, 2026 @ 11:00 AM PDT: Wind Advisory in effect for the Mojave Desert slopes in eastern Kern County from this afternoon until early Tuesday morning. West winds 25-35 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph expected. Highways impacted include, but are not limited to, State Routes 14, 58, and 178, as well as U.S. 395. Travel will be difficult, especially for those operating high profile vehicles.

Although temperatures will start near average in the upcoming week, a warming trend in the late part of the week will bring a medium probability (50-60%) for triple-digit highs for the San Joaquin Valley. This level of heat has a moderate risk for heat-related illnesses for those sensitive to heat, such as older adults (65+), infants, athletes, outdoor workers, those without effective cooling, and those with chronic diseases.
