Advocacy doesn't end with a rally; it continues through conversations and collective action.

During last Tuesday's Day of Advocacy, more than 100 advocates from Bucks and Montgomery Counties met with 30 area legislative offices, sharing the urgent need for policies that prioritize housing and behavioral health in our region and across Pennsylvania.

These conversations matter because they give advocates a chance to share the stories and realities that local people are living—and to help policymakers understand how the right investments translate into real differences for individuals, families, and communities every day, from increasing access to affordable housing to removing barriers to behavioral health treatment and recovery.

We are grateful to our Bucks-Mont legislators and their staff who took time to engage with advocates and hear directly from providers, community leaders, and individuals with lived experience. The momentum generated in Harrisburg is only the beginning, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations in the months ahead.

On Tuesday, more than 100 advocates from Bucks and Montgomery Counties came together in Harrisburg with a shared message: Housing and behavioral health are inseparable priorities, and both require urgent action and sustained investment.

Representing more than 50 organizations, providers, advocates, and community members—including people with lived experience, service providers, and community leaders—gathered at the Capitol for the 2026 Day of Advocacy to make clear: the safety net is only as strong as its weakest thread.

We are deeply grateful to our event partners—Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania, Mental Health Partnerships, The Montco 30% Project, Interagency Council of Norristown, and TriCounty Community Network—our rally speakers Phyllis Chamberlain, Jeannine L. Lisitski, Ph.D., Nick Emeigh of NAMI Bucks County PA, Blessing Osazuwa of Family Promise Montco PA, and Deputy Secretary Jennifer Smith of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and every advocate who showed up and made their voice heard. This is what collective action looks like.
