Congratulations to our “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” award Kallie Sudbeck. She is the daughter of Kraig Sudbeck and Samantha Sears. She received a medal, a certificate, her final prize and a FREE book from the Hartington Public Library. Kallie will be entering Kindergarten at Hartington Newcastle Public School in the fall of 2026.
Kallie visits the library with her mom, her brother Bentley, but not Rhett. She likes to read books especially books on princesses, farm animal with her favorite being- a pig, and Barbie books. She loves coming to the library for more books and to play bingo. Kallie is so ready to read by herself. Awesome job to mom and dad for instilling the love of the library and books at a young age.
This program was launched to get children ready for school, and to encourage more parent/child library visits. Books are logged and prizes are awarded along the way. One of the best ways to encourage pre-reading skills is to spend time sharing books each and every day! Reading provides a solid foundation, a key to school and learning success.

Unearth a Story @ your library is off to a ROARING good start! During our 1st week, Little Miss Days of 56, Halley Lewon visited the library to let our readers know about the Ponca Rodeo on June 26 and 27! The reading has begun, logs are turning in, prizes given and our dino claws are going up on the walls.

A board of directors governs the Friends of the Library. They meet monthly to discuss new ideas, projects and implement them.

The Friends are a group of individuals who believes the library offers a great wealth of information and activities. They may be
the book lover, researcher, avid learner or activities supporter!
Their purpose is to promote and support all aspects of the library and to help with fundraiser efforts in order to provide financial support to the library
