Public hearings will be held to receive public comments on a request from City Staff to amend Municipal Code of Ordinances Chapter 98 Zoning, Article XI Telecommunication Facilities, by defining and authorizing telecommunication facilities within residential districts with a specific City Council Use Permit.

Currently, the zoning ordinance prohibits the placement of certain telecommunications facilities within residential districts, even when such infrastructure may be necessary to provide reliable utility and communication services. The proposed amendment establishes a review process that allows these facilities to be considered on a case-by-case basis while maintaining City Council oversight.

The public hearings will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers, 12951 Bandera Road, Helotes, Texas 78023, on the following dates:

📌Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. – P&Z Commission Meeting

📌Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. – City Council Meeting

Remembering Marian Mendoza. 🕊️

The City of Helotes mourns the passing of former City Administrator Marian Mendoza.

Marian dedicated her career to serving others through local government. Her leadership, professionalism, and compassion helped strengthen our organization and positively impacted the Helotes community.

Those who knew Marian remember not only her commitment to excellence, but also her kindness, humility, and genuine care for people. She leaves behind a legacy of service that will not be forgotten.

Our hearts and prayers are with her family and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.

We are grateful for Marian's service to Helotes and will continue to honor her legacy through our commitment to serving this community.

Guests are kindly asked to wear blue, Marian’s favorite color, or teal in honor of MG awareness. Visitation and mingling will be held from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, followed by the eulogy at 12:00 PM. Afterward, guests are welcome to share memories, kind words, and stories in Marian’s honor and continue visiting until 3:00 PM.
