🎃👻 Halloween Safety at Our School! 👻🎃

Today, Officer Shelton visited with students to share some important Halloween safety tips to help everyone have a fun and safe Halloween! 🧡🖤

Here are the key reminders he shared:

🔦 Be Seen: Carry a flashlight or glow stick so drivers can see you in the dark.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Stay Together: Stay with your parents or group at all times.

👻 Costume Safety: Make sure costumes fit safely and don't block your vision or make it difficult to walk.

🚸 Cross Safely: Use crosswalks, look both ways, and watch for cars before crossing the street.

🍬 Check Your Candy: Always have a trusted adult check your candy before eating it!

A big THANK YOU to our School Resource Officer Shelton for taking the time to help our students stay safe! We hope everyone has a fun, safe, and SPOOKTACULAR Halloween! 🎃🕷️🦇

Holcomb Community,
Our students are taking the lead in making HES an even better place! This student-led action project started with a group of fifth grade students sharing an idea for improving our lunchroom by getting new tables. They presented their idea to Mrs. Thyne and Mr. Sullivan, gathered support from students across our school, created signs, and explored possible fundraising ideas. From there, the project was taken to our Student Council. This group is helping carry the project forward by managing the outreach, sharing the message through a student video and flyers for families and our community.

Building and district funds will also be considered to help make this project happen, but community support is welcome and appreciated! We are proud of our students for speaking up, working together, and taking action to make a difference in their school.

HORNS UP! 🤘🧡

Fourth graders rocked 🎸 their Decades concert! They spoke, sang, danced, drummed, played ukeleles and boom whackers, and ran the video and backgrounds. They did it all. Great job fourth graders and Mrs Tidwell!
