Everything is coming up…summer reading!

Adults and young adults (age 16+), it’s time to join in the fun and enter our Adult Reading Challenge this summer, “Plant A Seed, Read”! As a reward for your reading, one lucky entrant will be drawn each week to receive a gift card to a fantastic local business and two more entrants will be drawn to win free books!

It couldn’t be easier to participate–read a book (ANY book of your choice–audiobooks count too!), fill out an entry form and place it in our flower pot entry box at the Library! You can find entry forms and instructions on display near our entrance.

Can’t make it to the library? Call us at the Reference Desk at 508-210-5569 or email us at [email protected] and we’ll fill out the entry form for you! This year we’re looking for the title and author of the book you read and three words that best describe it. Enter for the week one drawing by Saturday, June 27 for the drawing held on Monday, June 29. The week one prize is a gift certificate to Quinn’s Blue Plate! One entry per reader per week–let’s keep this fun and fair. Please call with any questions!

There are a few spaces left for “Tour the Reservoir Like It's 1901” this Tuesday evening!

On June 20, 1901, officials of the towns and cities in the Metropolitan District took a tour of the Wachusett Reservoir construction project. Follow along in their footsteps at “Tour the Reservoir Like It’s 1901” on Tuesday, June 16 from 6:30-7:30pm and enjoy ephemera like newspaper clippings, sketches, and photographs. This program is generously provided by the DCR’s Division of Water Supply Protection for Wachusett Reservoir. Registration for this program is required. For more information or to register, please contact the Reference Desk at 508-210-5569 or email us at [email protected].
